Three months ago while scrolling the MLS with a glass of champagne by myself one evening, I stumbled upon a new listing of a house in one of my favorite areas of Sacramento. I turned 30 this month, and was definitely feeling the need to make a complete up level in many areas of my life.. my living situation was just one of them. After a veryyyy stressful real estate purchase, and a few angry emails to my lender- I bought a house.
The house needed more than just a few updates, it didn't have flooring and part of the paint and drywall on the ceiling was falling off due to an upstairs water leak.
On top of everything I have already mentioned, the house badly needed updated bathrooms, new kitchen countertops and an entire stair lift cut out of the stairway.
It took me about 3 weeks to have new flooring added, paint the majority of the walls and have new vanities and fixtures added to the house. I was not only in a time crunch, but I also was worried about interest rates rising and the opportunity to refinance in a timely manner.
Overall the house turned out much better than I could even imagine.. and in true Mandy manners.. did I just get a new business idea?
